Post Workout Shake Drink Protein After Workout
The following combination of supplements should be taken right after your workout.
The following combination of protein and carbohydrates will help to provide the
necessary amount of nutrients to build muscle. It is very important to have whey
protein and carbohydrates within 45 minutes of your workout because it is in this
time that your muscles will absorb almost anything that you feed them. Follow this
chart to see how much of all the ingredients you will need:
- .2 grams of whey protein per pound
- .4 grams of carbohydrates per pound
- 1 tsp of Flaxseed Oil (Optional)
Example: 180lb Person
.2 x 180 = 36 grams of protein
.4 x 180 = 72 grams of carbohydrates
1 tsp of Flaxseed Oil
Protein powder is going to help increase the rate of protein synthesis and repair
your muscles. This will also increase production of human growth hormone and
stop the release of cortisol. Cortisol starts to be released once you start working
out, but since the level of testosterone is greater than cortisol, muscle building still
occurs. It is after 45 minutes to 1 hour that the level of cortisol is greater than
testosterone that your body starts to break down muscle. Because it is of this
reason that you should take a pre-workout shake along with a post workout shake
because it will control the release of cortisol and keep you in an anobolic stage
longer. To gain even more muscle look into using creatine.
